Clark Kent never regained his powers, instead going into politics as his way of changing the world. Bart Allen never took the mantle of the Flash up, and never died. The tenth age of magic started later than it should have, resulting in a madman with the power of Fate waging a one-man war on the world. Many of the world's heroes have been killed, those that are left either retired or are struggling to hold on to their lives. It is a time when new heroes are needed more than they ever have been before. It is the Onyx Age.
